On a recent farmers market trip, I came across a tantalizing fruit I'd never encountered before: fresh jujube dates. While not particularly common in the US, this variety of date is a favorite throughout much of Asia and is most commonly eaten fresh out of hand, dried, or candied. With a texture and flavor somewhat similar to an apple - but drier, less dense, and almost mealy - this novel fruit may not be one I'll return to anytime soon, but it was fun to try, nonetheless. What have you been eating or drinking recently? Or what ingredient have you just discovered? We want to know, so let us join in on your current culinary fixation.

We've got a group called Savory Sights, where you can upload mouthwatering images of foods and drinks you've made, consumed, or simply salivated over. Start showing us your photos. There are lots of ways to participate, so read on to learn more.
